The colorectal nurse specialists offer support, information and advice. This is from diagnosis, throughout treatment and follow-up for bowel cancer patients.

They act as a link between patients and the other members of the healthcare team. The aim is to support a seamless pathway of care. It means helping the patient and their family throughout their treatment journey.

They work closely with primary care providers. This means GPs, community nursing teams and specialist cancer nursing teams. This includes Macmillan and the Maggie’s Centre.

The team has a contact number for all its patients. 0191 293 4284, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.

The team members are lead colorectal nurse specialist Liz Robinson, and colorectal nurse specialists Kirsty Brady, Sarah Wyse, Lauren Spence, Victoria Mallon, Abbi Stuart, Amie Ridley and Gemma Morrison.
