Clinical Educator in Cardiology Jordan Stock talks about her varied role on International Nurses Day

Hi there, I’m Jordan and I’m the Clinical Educator in Cardiology for the Trust. I have worked in cardiology for more than 8 years now and I am passionate about sharing my love of the speciality.

I have worked under the speciality of cardiology as a staff nurse but in a variety of settings, including the acute ward and the Cath Lab where we assisted the Cardiologists with coronary angiogram and the insertion of pacemakers. For a short time, I worked in the private sector for a pacing company before coming back to the NHS where I was successful in gaining a junior sister position prior to my current position.

I went into nursing after doing a chemistry degree at university and not really knowing what to do, other than I wanted to work in a hospital and to help people- I was encouraged to become a nurse by my grandma and I haven’t looked back. I love being a nurse, particularly the lifelong friends I have made and the special bond teams have. I am fortunate to work with amazing people every day who make me proud of what I do and what we achieve every day, despite numerous pressures.
