The purpose of clinical research is to ensure that the care each patient receives is the current best practice or the best known care that can be given.
Research ensures that we maintain this excellence, and with each patient’s involvement we are able to build up a picture of what best practice is.
Your level of involvement will depend on the study and the phase of life you are in. A study can be observational – and may just ask to follow your care, or it can be interventional – and ask to change an element of your care. Each study is carried out over a different length of time which will match your level of involvement.
Our research team will clarify with you the level of involvement with each specific study, as each one is different.
