Nursing and midwifery training and development

We have excellent relationships with local nursing and midwifery degree training providers and every year hundreds of trainee nurses, midwives and other allied health professionals join us working in our hospitals and out in the community.

Our friendly teams welcome those entering their chosen professions, providing guidance, mentoring and support throughout pre-registration nursing and midwifery training, helping to equip our future workforce with the skills to meet the ever changing demands and pressures of modern clinical practice.

For those newly qualified, we offer a preceptorship programme to help with the transition from university to nursing in a busy hospital environment and provide mentoring and support every step of the way.

We also offer a range of learning and development opportunities for our 5000 strong nursing and midwifery workforce and are passionate about giving the best possible support so that our teams can develop their skills, excel in their roles and build their careers with us.

A wide variety of education, training and practice development is available as well as opportunities to undertake various degrees and post graduate qualifications and leadership development.

As a trust we offer practical support to help you meet the requirements for your revalidation.
